Date & Time
Saturday, April 24, 2021, 8:30 AM - 9:30 AM
Description

Kim and Natalie will share a variety of research based strategies and tools that educators can implement in their classroom to support their literacy program. Using over 30 years of research in the field of reading, they will explore the advantages of a structured literacy approach compared to the current balanced literacy and whole language approaches to teaching students how to read. They will discuss the importance of creating a systematic, explicit, cumulative, and multi-sensory literacy program while offering science-based ideas and resources that can be implemented and incorporated into your current literacy program. They want all teachers to have the tools necessary to support all learners in the classroom so that all students can achieve success in reading, writing, and spelling.
